Spirituality, Compassion and Mental Health Conference

Date: 11 July 2017

Time: 9.30am – 4.30pm

Venue: University of Huddersfield

This conference is open to all health and social care professionals,

community and voluntary sector workers, service users and carers.

The conference aims to provide you with an understanding of the concepts

and practice of spirituality and compassion, as well as its importance in Mental Health.

Keynote speakers include:

Dr Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury who will speak on:

‘Nourishing the spirit: relations, stories, rhythms.’

Fiona Venner, Chief Executive of Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service.

Fiona will speak on compassion and love in crisis care.

Wilf McSherry, Professor of Dignity in Care at Staffordshire

University. Professor McSherry will speak about spirituality and

spiritually competent practice in health and social care.

Kevin Bond, former Chief Executive of NAVIGO, who will speak

on revolutionising mental health provision through compassion.

Additional speakers will also be there.

A fee of £25 is payable for this conference. Please reserve a

The closing date for booking is 6 June 2017.

A place will only be reserved upon the receipt of full payment.
